Who is eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit?
To obtain a post-graduation work permit, you must prove that you:
- Have completed an academic program at a DLI in Canada lasting at least 8 months and leading to a degree, diploma, or certificate.
- Maintain full-time student status in Canada for each academic session of the program or programs of study you completed and submitted as part of your post-graduation work permit application.
- You received a transcript and an official letter from the eligible DLI confirming that you fulfilled the requirements to complete your program of study.
How long will my Post-Graduation Work Permit be?
Post-graduation work permits are typically issued for the same duration as the program you completed, which can be up to three years.
- 3- or 4-year program → 3-year PGWP
- 2-year program → 2-year PGWP
- 8-month to 1-year program → 1-year PGWP
