What is a lmia?
The LMIA is used to demonstrate that you, as a Canadian employer, were unable to locate Canadians to work in your company and that you can afford the salary while meeting the program’s conditions. We assisted you in advertising for the vacancies, which revealed that no Canadians were available. At the end of the process, you will receive a positive LMIA with or without a worker’s name on it. You can apply for as many positions as you want, but each LMIA must be for the same occupation.
How employers can apply for an lmia:
- Employers must publicize the positions for four consecutive weeks.
- Ensure that the post is advertised at the median wage for the occupational code.
- After advertising, the employer must prepare an offer letter.
- Should be signed by the foregoing employees following the advertisement period.
- Proof of the business's validity is also necessary.
Make sure you're using the correct application form. Determine whether you require a low-wage or high-wage form.
