Many francophones who want to immigrate to Canada outside of Quebec are eligible for the Francophone Mobility Work Permit Program.
The Francophone Mobility Program enables skilled workers with native French language skills to apply for work permits in Canada if they have a job offer outside of Quebec. The program aims to establish francophone communities outside of Quebec.
Requirements of the Francophone Mobility Program
- French language: You must demonstrate native level proficiency in French; a language test may be required if the officer has doubts about your language ability
- Job Offer in Canada: You must have a skilled job offer for full-time employment outside of Quebec (National Occupation Level 0, A or B) with a Canadian employer
- Work experience and training: You must be able to prove that you are qualified to work in this position
Benefits of the program:
- A job offer is exempt from the requirement of a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), which means that your employer does not have to conduct recruitment activities
- The job offer is not required to meet the median wage requirements that are associated with the Temporary Foreign Worker Program
- You can bring your family - because the position must be level NOC 0, A, or B, you can bring your spouse, common-law partner, and dependent children
Who is the Francophone Mobility Program for?
- Applicants with native or near native ability in French, in particular nationals of: France, Belgium, Switzerland, Monaco, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritius, Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, Senegal, Reunion, or other applicants with a near native level of French
